L’ensemble des articles réunis ici éclairent la singularité de la pensée merleau-pontienne, qui se voulut tout à la fois théorique et pratique, esthétique (au double sens de l’expérience de l’art et de l’expérience sensible) et intellectuelle. Des dialogues fructueux se nouent à cette occasion : avec Fink, Gurwitsch, Deleuze, Derrida, Marx, Lacan ou encore Mélanie Klein. Couvrant ainsi un large éventail thématique, ce nouveau volume de Chiasmi international témoigne de toute la diversité des recherches en cours sur la pensée de Merleau-Ponty. Par ailleurs ce sixième numéro clôt pour la seconde fois la boucle éditoriale de la direction de la revue, qui fut tour à tour attribuée à Renaud Barbaras, Mauro Carbone et Leonard Lawlor. D’où l’occasion d’un bilan : peut-être pourrait-on dire, sur la foi de ces six premiers numéros, que Merleau-Ponty s’offre aujourd’hui comme un véritable recours, au sens d’un “point de diffraction”, pour la philosophie contemporaine de tradition continentale.
The essays in Between Aesthetics and Psychoanalysis bring to light how Merleau-Ponty’s thought is at once theoretical and practical, aesthetical (in both senses of art and sense-experience) and intellectual. Fruitful comparisons are also made between Merleau-Ponty and other thinkers: Fink, Gurwitsch, Deleuze, Derrida, Marx, Lacan, and Melanie Klein. Being spread over many topics and figures therefore, this volume of Chiasmi International presents the full spectrum of current research concerning the thought of Merleau-Ponty. As well, volume VI of Chiasmi International completes the second full cycle of the rotating editorship among Renaud Barbaras, Mauro Carbone, and Leonard Lawlor. It therefore gives us an occasion to be a bit retrospective. Perhaps, on the basis of these six volumes, it is possible to claim that Merleau-Ponty is the resource, the “point of diffraction,” we might say, for all contemporary philosophy in the Continental tradition.
